Board members are the strategic drive for the organisation and are expected to show a commitment to the organisation’s values. The board meets once a month to oversee services and finances, ensuring that each are aligned with the strategic business plan. The plan is reviewed annually and renewed every three years. Board members provide guidance and support to the organisation’s staff through the CEO, provide a link with the society’s membership and ensure the needs of our service.

We achieve this by providing engaging social activities in a safe and setting where they are encouraged to make friends while their families get valuable breaks from caring

We are looking for volunteers with an awareness of autism or disability issues, particularly the impact on families and carers. A professional background in any aspect of business or service management would be helpful. We are particularly keen to recruit trustees who have experience in finance or HR roles.
