The Treasurer’s role is to oversee the financial elements of the organisation, to monitor the financial affairs of the charity and to report to the other Trustees accordingly about the financial health of the organisation in line with charity and legal requirements. It is essential for the Treasurer to have a sound knowledge and understanding of financial management through professional or other experience. Previous experience as Treasurer for a charity is not as essential although desirable.

Training Details
Induction to Board of Trustees. Ongoing training as arises.
Location/Travel Details
The board of Trustees meet every 6-8 weeks. Meetings take place in person at Craigmillar Literacy Trust, 2B Greendykes Road, EH16 4DP. Meetings take place in the evenings 5.15pm-7.30pm. A Zoom option is available but it is preferrable for the Board to meet in person. The Treasurer is also required to attend sub group meetings as appropriate. These happen every 3-4 months. The Treasurer will be required to liaise with the Director via phone or email. The location has a car park and is accessible to wheelchair users. Buses include the 30,2,14 or 21 to Niddrie Mains Road.
