Tasks would involve; planning activities, setting up activities e.g. putting out arts and crafts materials or preparing food for cooking and then helping out at youth clubs with cooking, football, arts and crafts, dodgeball, baking, hide and seek, tig and a lot more. Main tasks involve generally watching out for the safety of the young people and helping them have fun through participating in different activities.
About FetLor Youth Club
FetLor Youth Club provides a safe environment for young people ages 7-17 from across north Edinburgh. They can receive support and gain life skills through taking part in a range of activities and opportunities offered at the club.
We are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with young people and who wants to make a positive difference to their lives. Preferably someone who has experience working with young people. Ideally the volunteer would have a particular skill or interest that they would like to share with in our Clubs.
Induction will take place on first day of volunteering, no training is offered initially, although this will be reviewed for longer term volunteers.
Flexibility & Commitment
Around 3 hours per week, hours can be flexible, Clubs run from 3:30pm onwards. We would ask for a commitment of one school term to ensure continuity for young people (Sept – Dec / Jan – Apr / Apr – Jun)
