Workshop Facilitators

Deliver workshops for participants from varied backgrounds – must attend 3 weekend workshops to experience programme and train yourself. Facilitators attend a L1, L2 then a training weekend, then are expected to complete their “apprenticeship” of a minimum of 3 workshops delivered within one calendar year. Workshop facilitation involves, public speaking, explaining exercises, assisting with individual learning, helping to explain tasks, running & coming up with ideas for light and lively games.

About Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) Scotland

The Alternatives to Violence Project Britain helps people to handle conflict and violence. It is a national charity with over 100 trained volunteer facilators delivering intensive, low cost workshops for people from all walks of life who want to handle conflict and violence well. AVP Scotland is one of 6 regions of AVP Britain.

Experience Required

Will to learn and help others, confident to share their own stories as we work through experiential learning, you cannot facilitate a workshop without knowing how this feels/experiencing it yourself. Able to commit to training.

Flexibility & Commitment

School Holidays;Term Time;Flexible

3 weekends per year to train, and afterwards we can be more flexible and provide mid-week workshops as well as our traditional weekend offerings.

Location/Travel Details

There will be some admin work or pre-reading that can be done at home. As you get more involved with the charity there will be other tasks that could be completed at home also


Reasonable travel expenses to all workshops will be paid ? workshops to train will be free for all potential facilitators.
