Women’s ESOL Group Teacher

Project Esperanza offers practical, emotional and integration support predominantly to families of African heritage but also supports a huge base of people from multi ethnic backgrounds. We are looking for a teacher for our group ESOL classes for women. The role includes planning lessons, delivering them and supporting students to access further language education if they want. You will be providing vital support for participants to engage in the Edinburgh community and improve their own lives.

Experience Required

Essential: Fluent English. Good communication skills. Friendly with good people skills. A desire to support women to integrate in the local community and gain practical language skills. Desirable: Experience of planning and teaching lessons (but if you don't have this we can support you to gain confidence).

Training Details

We will talk through all the details to make sure you are comfortable, and there will be a handover from the previous teacher with all useful information. Charity staff will sit in on sessions when they can to support you and check in. We will have meetings throughout your time volunteering to talk about your personal development and any challenges.

Flexibility & Commitment

Short Term Volunteering (3 months or less);School Holidays;Summer Holidays

1.5 hours per week for 6 weeks.

Location/Travel Details

Pilton Community Health Project 73 Boswall Parkway. Routes 14 and 19 stop outside, routes 8 and 16 stop a short walk away.
