We’re looking for a few good volunteers to help us cook delicious meals for hundreds of vulnerable and isolated people across Edinburgh. We need chefs who will relish the challenge of knocking up dishes in 200 + portion batches. We make good old fashioned Scran – mince n tatties, fish pie, stovies, mac cheese, etc – and cook all our dishes from the heart! The role is just to support the last few weeks of the scheme throughout August, so there will only be a few shifts available.
About Scran Academy
We are on a mission to see every young person, regardless of background or barrier, realise their full potential in learning, work and life. Too many young people in our most challenging communities never realise their talents or aspirations due to the effects of social inequality and poverty.
Essential: Food Hygiene level 2 Professional cooking experience
You'll be given a brief training session referencing our COVID meals risk assessment and the kitchen you'll be based in.
