Volunteer Befrienders

Volunteer Befriender;
Works in tandem with the circle of support.
You will act as a 1:1 befriender for a person with a learning disability or autism.
Together, you could attend clubs, groups or activities within the individual’s local community.
You would support the person in a safe social setting and help facilitate this person making their own relationships with other people.

About Equal Futures

Equal Futures was founded by families who took the initiative to plan and support their disabled relative to enjoy a good life. Our vision is simple. We want everyone to have access to a good life. A good life for people with disabilities is not very different from a good life for anyone else and means inclusion and lifelong, loving relationships. We believe that everyone benefits from knowing other people. This might be family, friends, colleagues, neighbours or people we know through our activities. At Equal Futures we help families to set up and maintain a lifetime Circle of Support around their relative with a disability. We aim to give families peace of mind so that when they are no longer around, their son or daughter will still benefit from loving relationships.
