Befriender (for elderly lady)

We are looking for a volunteer to befriend a women in her 80s. She is socially isolated and lacks confidence to go out on her own. We are looking for someone who can volunteer on a regular basis and go out with this person for coffee, walks (Cramond, Botanics) and to the shops.
Person is still very independent and active so needs minimal assistance. Car is essential for this role.

Experience Required

Good listening skills Sense of humour Ability to drive and use of a car.

Training Details

Induction training and then ongoing relevant training

School Holidays;Term Time

2-3h per week or every other week

Location/Travel Details

Cammo/Barnton car is essential for this role due to limited public transport

Expenses

Volunteer can claim the expenses as frequently as they wish to do so Expenses form need to be completed and signed. Money can be paid in cash directly to the volunteer or by cheque
