To work as part of the Board of Directors who provide effective governance for Fast Forward ensuring that all activities fall within the charity’s purpose and that we adhere to our constitution document.
To provide strategic direction to Fast Forward and monitor progress and achievement against the organisation’s Business Plan.
To act as a guardian of the charity’s assets and ensure the charity is solvent.
To ensure the charity is run properly, responsibly and lawfully.
About Fast Forward Positive Lifestyles Ltd
Fast Forward is a national organisation that promotes health and well-being through education by, with and for young people. We have particular expertise in the area of drug, alcohol and tobacco education and prevention. We also promote and support the use of peer education through the operation of the Scottish Peer Education Network (SPEN). We provide innovative training, manuals and resources.
Enabling & supportive management style, with ability to challenge when appropriate. Good, independent judgement. Risk aware but not risk averse. Ability to present arguments with knowledge and understanding of wider strategic contexts. Analytical, democratic, focused and flexible.
New Trustees are matched with a mentor from the Board who will support them in their induction period.
Flexibility & Commitment
1-2 hours / month
Our Board meets 4 times / year, currently the Spring & Summer meetings are in person at the Fast Forward office, 4 Bernard St, Edinburgh, EH6 6PP, the Autumn & Winter meetings are held digitally.
Trustees complete an expenses form and submit to the Chair for approval before being processed for payment. Payment will be received within 4 weeks.
