Tea Party Driver

Could you help drive one or two guests to tea parties? You will only be volunteering once a month, so this is perfect for fitting around your own availability and lifestyle.
You will help drive the guests to the group and then stay for some refreshments and a good blether. Normally the tea party will last for about 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon and is held by other Volunteers in their home. It is the same local group you volunteer with so you can make some real connections to your community.

About Re-engage

Re-engage exists to support older people who live alone and find it hard to get out in normal times. The Covid-19 crisis is particularly devastating for these people and many are feeling incredibly vulnerable, especially those with few family members or friends to talk to. In response to the crisis we’ve suspended our regular social gatherings and, with the help of our dedicated volunteers, have set up a UK-wide call companions service. Older people who are feeling alone can receive a regular friendly phone call throughout the crisis and beyond, for as long as they want it. No one should have to face this crisis alone. We won’t leave anyone behind.

Experience Required

Driving License is essential. No other experience or particular skills required. We just need you to be an empathetic person who is ready to work alongside Older People over the age of 75.

Training Details

Full remote training provided including PVG check and safeguarding, complete at your own pace. In your role you are also supported by our Support team and your Tea Party Co-ordinator for any questions or queries you have.
