Skilled Repair Team Volunteer

ETL is looking for skilled volunteers to help us repair and maintain our tool library inventory. We’re looking to expand our small repair team with folks who have experience with tool repair and maintenance and a high standard for health and safety.

Help us make the most of our ever expanding library, teach folks how to make do and mend, and reduce waste in our community by expanding the life of our tools!

About The Edinburgh Tool Library

The Edinburgh Tool Library was established with three goals: Reduce our members carbon footprint, and promote sharing as an alternative to consumption, Save all our members money, and give low income households access to equipment they otherwise couldn?t afford, Create opportunities for unemployed young people with barriers to employment by pairing them with mentors

Experience Required

Experience repairing and maintaining hand tools and power tools, knowledge of health and safety standards, specifically electrical safety. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues safely, to follow inventory and logging systems, and to communicate with other volunteers and staff.

Training Details

Interested repair volunteers will be trained and work alongside staff and other repair volunteers. While people may come in with skills and other expertise, we still need to train them in accordance with our policies and procedures.
