From stunning boutiques full of designer gems to discount stores where you can grab a bargain, our charity shops are much-loved across Scotland. We are looking for someone with superb interpersonal skills and the use of their own vehicle to collect and transfer donations made to the shop, providing an extremely useful and appreciated service for the Charity. Join our team and make a real difference to people in Scotland who are isolated, scared, or anxious about their condition.
About Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland
We are Scotland’s health charity supporting people and their families across Scotland with Chest, Heart and Stroke conditions. We want to make sure people living with one of these conditions are living life to the full. We will advocate for better health for everyone and work to make sure there is help and support in every community. The care and support we deliver every day ensures everyone can live the life they want to. Across Scotland, over 1 million people are living with the effects of Chest, Heart and Stroke conditions. We will support people by providing advice, information, and support through our No Life Half Lived strategy across Scotland. These services include our Advice Line, Stroke Nurse Service, Community Support Service, Health Information, Health Defence, Education and E-learning and our Peer Support Groups.
Collecting donated stock; delivering stock to the charity shop; transferring donations between shops; putting collection bags in the community to be collected; dependent on location - occasional driving of CHSS van to collect and deliver stock.
Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland will provide all necessary training needed to undertake your volunteering role, which will be carried out under the guidance of the shop manager. Formal training will include Lone Worker Safety E-Learning; Manual Handling E-Learning; Safeguarding Adults (L2) E-Learning; GDPR UK: Essentials E-Learning; and Driver Awareness E-Learning.
Flexibility & Commitment
2 hours per week
This role will be based in one of our Edinburgh shops, with travel throughout the local area.
Reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed. These should be discussed with your Line Manager prior to outlay and must be submitted within the prescribed guidelines as detailed in the CHSS Volunteer Expenses Policy.
