Support mothers experiencing perinatal mental health challenges using your lived experience. As a peer support volunteer, you’ll offer empathetic listening, encouragement, and signposting. Tasks include co-hosting peer support sessions (online or in-person, varying from 1–4 hrs a month), engaging in supportive conversations, maintaining boundaries, and completing brief check-ins/feedback. You should feel well enough within your own mental health journey to support others. Training provided.

Experience Required
Empathy and active listening; good communication skills; ability to use lived experience appropriately; reliability and commitment (1–4 hrs/month); maintaining boundaries and confidentiality; non-judgmental attitude; basic record-keeping; willingness to complete training and receive support/supervision.
Training Details
Our induction training prepares you for your peer support role. It covers understanding perinatal mental health, using lived experience safely, active listening skills, boundaries and confidentiality, and when/how to signpost or escalate concerns. You’ll also learn about the JUNO approach, safeguarding basics, and what to expect in the role, with time for questions and discussion.
