Previous discussions in the group have included pay and peer work, opportunities to progress in peer work, language in peer work and employer’s understanding of peer work.

About CAPS Independent Advocacy

CAPS is an independent advocacy organisation for people who use or have used mental health services. We are completely independent from the people who fund us and those who provide other services to the people we work with. We provide individual and collective advocacy in East Lothian and Midlothian. We also host several experience-led projects across Lothian.

Experience Required

You will need personal experience of having worked/volunteered in a peer way (using your lived experience of mental health issues in an intentional way to help others) in Edinburgh and be willing to share experiences with people from different backgrounds.
