Participant, Veterans Collective Advocacy

CAPS is looking for people who have served in the British military that live in Scotland, to participate in collective advocacy small groups. This is an opportunity to use your experiences to help others like you. Groups are member-led and facilitated by a dedicated CAPS advocacy worker. This project is for all areas of Scotland, and will engage both in-person and online. We have regional groups as well as private groups for women, LGBT+, medical cannabis users, students, neurodiverse, +++.

About CAPS Independent Advocacy

CAPS is an independent advocacy organisation for people who use or have used mental health services. We are completely independent from the people who fund us and those who provide other services to the people we work with. We provide individual and collective advocacy in East Lothian and Midlothian. We also host several experience-led projects across Lothian.

Experience Required

Former member of the British Armed Forces. Living in Scotland.

Training Details

Location/Travel Details

Our project is based in Edinburgh but Scotland-wide. Groups will engage online and in-person and will be held in various locations that are accessible by public transport in Scotland. We are happy to ensure that our meetings are inclusive and accessible. Contact to discuss any requirements.


As appropriate, tea/coffee and snacks will be provided at in-person group meetings by the CAPS collective advocacy staff. Project supplies and expenses are paid for by CAPS. Other expenses may be covered with approval from CAPS collective advocacy staff.
