NHS Lothian is looking for volunteers to be the welcoming face at our sites across Edinburgh. We are looking for people who will welcome patients, visitors and staff into our hospitals. Meet and Greet volunteers have become an important factor in our continuing response to Covid-19, they help guide people around the sites and supply essential PPE and hand gel for those entering the hospitals.
About NHS 24
To provide telehealth care to Scottish patients and support to health boards through out of hours service.
Clear communication skills. Confidence to talk to new people. Working with others. Active listening.
We give all new volunteers full induction training, covering issues from Health and Safety to Infection Control. We also deliver ongoing training on more specific issues throughout the year that volunteers are able to engage with. All volunteers are given support and supervision.
Roles are available at the following sites: Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Lauriston Building, Royal Infirmary Edinburgh, Western General Hospital. Public transport is available and regularly services all of the NHS sites.
If a volunteer would like to claim expenses, they fill in an expenses form, have it signed by a member of staff and submit it to our team with receipts (can be done electronically)
