Chaperones welcome parents/guardians and children to rehearsals, working together in teams of 3 or 4 to care for up to 20 children all term. Chaperones look after the children’s safety while moving around the building, and help pass on information about arrangements. Chaperones play an essential role in the safeguarding of the children, ensuring that they only leave with known adults, and taking an interest in the children’s wellbeing at rehearsals. They also help any children who benefit from a little extra support during rehearsals. The role is non-musical.

Experience Required
Experience and confidence of working with children, good verbal communication, a positive outlook, punctual and reliable. Share our values and enjoyment and appreciation of community music-making, ability to explain their motivation for volunteering in this role. Understanding of child protection issues.

In short - letter of application followed by interviews for shortlisted candidates, taking place around 6 weeks before the start of each term. PVG checks and 2 reference checks (professional or character).

Term Time
2.5 hours per week for at least 5 sessions in our 8-week terms, 3 terms per year.
