Funding Assistant

Supporting writing and editing grant applications, funding-related administrative tasks, researching and liaising with suitable funders, attending our fortnightly funding working group meeting. Please note: the volunteering opportunity is not suitable for anyone under 16years of age or who has not yet reached school-leaving age.

About SHRUB Coop

The SHRUB Coop aims to reduce waste by providing a platform for people to engage with sustainability. We run a Swapshop, where people can swap their 'waste' things for items swapped in by others, a Freeshop (for members of the co-operative), upcycling and upskilling workshops and host a food-sharing group who tackle food waste.

Experience Required

Essential: ability to use a computer to access the internet, Google Drive and word processing packages. Desirable: good numeracy skills, good writing skills, ability to work in a team.

Training Details

When you express your interest you will be invited for a short informal chat with the fundraising coordinator to introduce you to the role. You'll then be invited along to the next fundraising team meeting to meet the team. You will be given access to some online fundraising training materials prepared by our fundraising consultant and supported throughout your volunteering journey by the coordinator.

Location/Travel Details

This is a remote volunteering opportunity which requires access to a computer/laptop and internet. During the Covid pandemic volunteers will need to work from home, but it may be possible to work from the SHRUB office in the near future as restrictions ease (if desired).


Reasonable travel expenses through BACS claim or petty cash. All other expenses must be agreed prior to spending.
