Assisting the Events Fundraising Manager to plan, set up, promote and carry out a variety of hospice events.
This will include meeting with venues and events companies, liasing with our PR and Comms team to create and agree a marketing and social media timeline for each event, sourcing prizes for fundraising events, sending thank you letters to supporters, offering stewardship and support to fundraisers, offering up creative ideas for ongoing or future events, and updating our database.
About St Columba's Hospice
St Columba's Hospice provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care for people with progressive, far-advanced illness with from across Edinburgh and the Lothians. We also provide support for their relatives and carers. Our vision is that everyone within our community has access to excellent palliative care whoever they are, wherever they are and whenever they need it. We provide care within our bedded unit, and through Day Services, Outpatient appointments and our Community Palliative Care Team. Our Education Department provides education in palliative care for healthcare professionals, as well as carrying out research. To do all of this, we have 160 staff, and over 600 volunteers.
Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Basic IT and admin skills (knowledge of Raisers edge desirable but not essential as training will be provided) Be able to work independently if required Confident talking to suppliers and businesses, asking them for support

Flexibility & Commitment
One morning or afternoon each week, generally Monday to Friday, but occasionally at weekends/ evening for an event
Although you will be based at St Columba's Hospice, 15 Boswall Road, Edinburgh, EH5 3RW; there will be some travel involved to events in and around Edinburgh.
Expenses are paid through BACS. We offer limited travel expenses.enquire
