As a member of the Board of Wester Hailes Youth Agency you are responsible in law, together with other Board members, for the governance, strategy and affairs of the organisation. You are jointly responsible for making sure that the organisation is administered effectively and can account for its activities and outcomes.
About Wester Hailes Youth Agency
The Youth Agency strives to provide quality community based services for young people, aged 8-25, in Wester Hailes and the surrounding communities of Broomhouse, Sighthill, Parkhead and Longstone. We endeavour to offer opportunities that are both challenging and enriching, and which serve to make a positive contribution to the lives of young people.
Essential skills: Commitment to the aims and values of the Youth Agency. Strategic vision. Independent judgment. Ability to think creatively. Willingness to speak up and actively contribute to Board meetings. Understand and accept Directors legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities.
Directors will receive an induction prior to initial Board meeting and can access relevant training.
Flexibility & Commitment
2 hours per month for a minimum of 12 months.
Board meetings take place at our premises on 44 Dumbryden Drive, Edinburgh and online.
Travel claims are submitted to manager along with any relevant receipts. Payment will be made by bacs.
