Dementia Day Service Volunteer

The Eric Liddell Day Service operates Monday to Friday from a purpose-built unit within The Eric Liddell Community, providing specialised quality care for people with a diagnosis of dementia. A typical day is full of fun, laughter and mutual support. The Day Service provides a varied and stimulating programme of activities which includes current affairs, craft, quizzes, Scrabble, poetry, music, dance and reminiscence.

About The Eric Liddell Community

The Eric Liddell Community, situated at Holy Corner in Edinburgh, provides a registered day care service for people with a diagnosis of dementia and a programme for carers including a befriending service and short breaks through a range of courses and events held throughout the city. The Centre also offers excellent office accommodation for small charities or organisations and quality meeting facilities for a range of educational, health, arts & culture, charitable, community and children's groups in its conveniently located premises at the heart of the community.

Experience Required

Active listening. Patience. Willing to learn and complete training. Appreciation for older people.

Training Details

Volunteers will be provided with all training required for this role.
