We’re looking for volunteers to help develop our charity who are passionate about supporting older people. We support lonely and isolated older people local to the community. We’re looking for help to do this! We primarily run community groups and events.
If you would like to chat to people in need of a conversation in groups, assist with our promotion or admin, have ideas of new groups you could run with us or something more creative or left-field, we’d love to hear from you! We’re really open to hearing ideas and working with your skills and ideas!
About Southside Faith Care
We aim to improve the lives of older people in the Southside of Edinburgh through pastoral care to combat loneliness and isolation. This will be done through local activities, groups and community collaboration to provide information and upskill older people to be more connected in their local community.
Experience Required
Enjoys talking with people particularly older people. empathetic, good listener, passionate.
Training Details
Our Activities Coordinator will support your time as a volunteer, offering regular check-ins to ensure you're okay as well as opportunities for local training to support relevant skills and personal development.

Location/Travel Details
Priestfield Church, Dalkeith Road, EH16 5HW Priestfield Church is on Dalkeith Road, just down the hill from the Commonwealth Pool and Pollock Halls. Local bus services 2,14,30 and 33 have stops on Dalkeith Road that are located near the building.
Expenses
A simple expense form to be completed at the end of each month and then to be paid at the beginning of the following month.
