When we return to face-to-face sessions, support these by setting up equipment, welcoming participants, handing out lyrics, clearing up at the end, etc.
About St Columba's Hospice
St Columba's Hospice provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care for people with progressive, far-advanced illness with from across Edinburgh and the Lothians. We also provide support for their relatives and carers. Our vision is that everyone within our community has access to excellent palliative care whoever they are, wherever they are and whenever they need it. We provide care within our bedded unit, and through Day Services, Outpatient appointments and our Community Palliative Care Team. Our Education Department provides education in palliative care for healthcare professionals, as well as carrying out research. To do all of this, we have 160 staff, and over 600 volunteers.
Reliable access to a computer and the internet, including camera / microphone Confident working with Microsoft PowerPoint slideshows and the online platform Zoom Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and a good sense of humour A good understanding of confidentiality and boundaries
Hospice Induction Team / role induction (with Arts Service staff) Mandatory training (booklet to complete) If needed, we can offer basic training in working with Microsoft PowerPoint slideshows and Zoom Team meetings (if/as necessary)
Flexibility & Commitment
two hours each week
Initially volunteering will take place via zoom, but hopefully the choir will be able to move to face to face gatherings at St Columba's Hospice, 15 Boswall Rd, Edinburgh.
A form needs to be submitted and proof of bus travel or mileage. Expenses are paid via BACS.
