Give Blood 4 Good are looking for students at the University of Edinburgh to form a Bloody Brilliant Uni Squad. The Squad would be tasked with promoting and raising awareness of blood donation at the university. You will work with sports clubs and societies to help them organise blood drives, hold fundraising events and generally educate students and staff about the importance of blood donation.
About Give Blood 4 Good
Our aims to inspire everyone in Scotland who is eligible to donate blood regularly to do so. We also focus on educating young people (aged 17-24) about blood donation as regular donation is lowest amongst this age group. We want to raise awareness and educate people about blood donation.
Essential skills - a passionate, enthusiastic person who loves meeting new people and getting involved in exciting projects! Must be a student at the University of Edinburgh (September 2020). Must be good at working in a team and communicating with others.
All volunteers will have an induction training session before commencing their role. Ongoing support is always available and our members will frequently communicate with members of the Bloody Brilliant Uni Squad.
Flexibility & Commitment

Give Blood 4 Good hold meetings virtually via Zoom so this opportunity can be home-based. However, we would expect our Bloody Brilliant Uni Squad volunteers to have a visible presence on the Edinburgh University campus e.g attend the sports and societies fair and other events. You may have to visit the Edinburgh Blood Donor Centre, which is only a 5-10 minute walk from the Edinburgh University campus.
Reasonable expenses can be claimed if receipts are provided and in line with our volunteers expenses policy.
