Art Group Volunteer

Help bring out the creativity of our students in a range of fun art workshops.
Supporting students with a variety of art activities. Supporting art facilitators to plan and prepare for art sessions.
Contribute ideas and suggestions for art activities. Take the lead in providing arts sessions for students.
Helping to maintain pleasant surroundings, ensuring that spaces used for art activities are tidy and clean enough to ensure safety of all participants.

Upmo is a charity and care provider that believes in a more inclusive society for the future. Our activities help work towards this vision. We support people who use our services with tailored support and learning opportunities independence through workshops, health & wellbeing and employability initiatives.

Experience Required

Willingness to share skills and to learn from others. Positive attitudes towards others. Willingness to support disabled people to overcome the barriers of everyday life. Ability to take responsibility for own behaviour and actions, and to work within Upmo´s expectations. Reliable and trustworthy.

Training Details

We have a full induction course regarding knowledge and skills related to working in an organisation like Upmo, including knowledge about learning disabilities, which we like all staff and volunteers to attend.

1 x 3 hr session per week

Location/Travel Details

Our main art workshops are in Leith, however we have other sites in other areas of Edinburgh and can discus with individuals who may be interested

Expenses

There is a reimbursement form, which the volunteer completes, providing evidence such as bus tickets if appropriate. this is passed by a manager and can be paid the day the form is received or the next day.
