Anne Hope House Gardener

We are looking for a gardening volunteer gardener to help us maintain the lovely garden at Anne Hope House, our twelve bed residential unit for females coming out of a situation of homelessness who are seeking to make positive changes in their lives. The garden requires ongoing maintenance, including digging, weeding, mowing the lawn and pruning flowers and bushes.

About Bethany Christian Trust

Bethany Christian Trust is a national charity whose mission is to relieve the suffering and meet the long term needs of homeless and vulnerable people in Scotland. We share a big vision – to work together towards the aim of Ending Homelessness in Scotland. We support people in a broad range of ways including: housing, education and employment, addiction recovery, emotional well-being, street outreach, community integration, offending reduction and social support

Experience Required

Skill and confidence in the garden is preferred. An appreciation of some of the challenges that our residents experience might be helpful and a sympathy for the ethos of Bethany Christian Trust is important.

Flexibility & Commitment


Preferrably weekly or biweekly.

Location/Travel Details

The unit is in Edinburgh. To maintain a safe environment for the women we accommodate the exact location is confidential until any role is confirmed.


Regular volunteers are entitled to claim up to £3.20 per day for travel expenses (£4.00 if multiple buses are required) and up to £3 per day for lunch expenses, providing that they volunteer for 4 hours or more on that day, and that they present their sup
