ACE IT Volunteer Coach

ACE IT Scotland is looking for volunteers to help with our One to One Coaching Project. The purpose of this role is to support people over 50 to improve and advance their IT knowledge through face to face, hour long coaching sessions. Our volunteers assist our learners to improve their IT knowledge and help fix any IT related problem they may have. These can vary from helping somebody to setup a new device all the way through to helping somebody use Excel to start a business plan!

Experience Required

Essential skills for this role are patience, understanding and an enthusiasm to help others. If you work with a computer, smartphone or tablet at home then you likely already have the IT knowledge needed to help our learners with their IT issues.

Training Details

A minimum of two sessions will be spent shadowing one of our experienced tutors before your first one to one coaching session. All volunteers will have regular supervision to feedback on progress, discuss future development and air any issues.

1 hour per week.

Location/Travel Details

Our office address is 25 Nicolson Square, Edinburgh. EH8 9BX. The following buses will take you directly to our front door: 2, 8, 47, 47B. You can also take any bus that takes you to Surgeons Hall which is just a 1 minute walk away. Waverley Station is the closest train station being about a half a mile away.


A form willl be sent out quarterly for you to fill in and claim any reasonable travel expenses, public transport is encouraged.
