The work of the WS volunteers can vary from spending one whole day with one witness or family, to five minutes with each witness giving information and being with someone before and after they have given evidence in Court. Deliver workshops for participants from varied backgrounds - must attend 3 weekend workshops to experience programme and train yourself. Facilitators attend a L1, L2 then a training weekend, then are expected to complete their "apprenticeship" of a minimum of 3 workshops delivered within one calendar year.
Volunteers will work with small groups of pupils to develop their writing skills through workshops, providing a supportive and encouraging presence that will help to keep pupils focused on the task at hand.
This opportunity is to volunteer with young wheelchair users aged between 8 and 25 at our Edinburgh monthly youth group.
The Big Project is a youth and Children's Project based in Broomhouse. We work with 5-15 year olds and offer a variety of services to children and young people including open access work, targeted group work, individual support, residential and holiday programme.
Our youth club volunteers will help with all aspects of running our drop-in youth clubs by getting involved in planning and delivery of activities, interacting with young people and watching out for their safety. We will work with volunteers to identify their skills and include them in our projects.
