Ward helpers support the distribution of food and drinks to patients including giving out meals and drinks, refilling water jugs, checking and recording fridge temperatures. Assist and prompt patients to eat their meals as directed by Ward Staff (if volunteer has participated in training)

Welfare Volunteers work together helping to ensure the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of volunteers and members of the SHRUB Coop. This could include helping create accessible welfare policies, assisting with workshops and drop in sessions and arbitrating conflicts and complaints.
Wellbeing Callers spend 1-2 hours per week supporting an adult as part of our Reconnect service. Our aim is to support people who are lonely and need some social interaction with weekly contact. The befriending can take place over the phone or via video calling depending on the needs of the service user.
The work of the WS volunteers can vary from spending one whole day with one witness or family, to five minutes with each witness giving information and being with someone before and after they have given evidence in Court. A lot of the volunteers' time is spent being supportive to people while they wait.
