Neatebox

Come to Volunteer Edinburgh to hear Gavin Neate talk about Neatebox. If you can’t make it or want to find out more watch the video below and be inspired! (There are subtitles so you don’t need to turn the sound on).

  • When? Monday 19 November from 10.00am until 11.00am.
  • Where? Volunteer Edinburgh, 222 Leith Walk, EH6 5EQ. Click here for directions.
  • What does is cost? The event is free.

Gavin founded his company Neatebox in 2011 and launched the Welcome app in 2017.

Say an individual with a disability is visiting Volunteer Edinburgh, your organisation or a business. The free app allows them to message the venue, letting them know about anything they would like them to be aware of and the specific assistance that will be required. Venues are notified of the visit request and receive an overview of the visitors’ condition and top tips to aid their interaction with the visitor. They are ready to welcome them and make any preparations, for example to find a quiet space or turn the music off.

It provides staff with an instant training reminder in order to help them address specific needs and increase their awareness; allows clients to communicate their needs more efficiently to the venue and gives them confidence that their condition and needs are understood and will be met upon arrival at the venue.

If you would like to reserve a place please contact nick.woodhead@volunteeredinburgh.org.uk or phone 0131 561 8304.
