Training and Support

If you are a trustee at the moment or thinking of becoming a trustee and you want to develop your skills then we can help.

Good 2 Great is an exciting personal development programme free to trustees, or potential trustees, of smaller Edinburgh voluntary or community organisations.

The training covers the essential skills for being an effective trautee - leadership, governance and decision-making. Good 2 Great is delivered over the course of one day on a Saturday and is a brilliant chance to not only learn but network with other volunteers in the same situation as you.

Trustees are the hidden force behind everything a voluntary or community organisation achieves.

If you would like to find out more about our Good 2 Great programme or if you would like to discuss how Good 2 Great can be run as a bespoke, inhouse course for your own board of trustees then please contact Jean Cuthbert on 0131 225 0639 or email Jean.cuthbert@volunteeredinburgh.org.uk

As well as our Good 2 Great programme we also run in partnership with our collegues at Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council a series of four bite sized training sessions on specific trustee skills:

  • Course One: Charity/Company Law – the roles and Responsibilities of Trustees (EVOC)
  • Course Two: Charity Finance (EVIOC)
  • Course Three: Recruiting and Supporting Trustees (including recruitment methods and induction) (VCE
  • Course Four: Effective Meetings and Dealing with Conflict (VCE)
