Support for your trustees

As a voluntary sector organisation your trustees are at the centre of your success.  Good and effective trustees are essential to ensure that your organisation is well governed and able to meet its objectives.

At the Volunteer Centre we have a range of training solutions to help your board of trustees develop, improve their skills and govern more effectively.

Good 2 Great is an exciting personal development programme free to trustees, or potential trustees, of smaller Edinburgh voluntary or community organisations.

The training covers the essential skills for being an effective trustees- leadership, governance and decision-making. Good 2 Great is delivered over the course of one day on a Saturday.

If you would like to find out more about our Good 2 Great programme  and how it can benefit your trustees, or if you would like to discuss how Good 2 Great can be run as a bespoke, in-house course for your own board of trustees then please contact Jean Cuthbert on 0131 225 0639 or email Jean.cuthbert@volunteeredinburgh.org.uk

As well as our Good 2 Great programme we also run in partnership with our colleagues at Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council a series of four bite sized training sessions on specific trustee skills:

  • Course One: Charity/Company Law – the roles and Responsibilities of Trustees (EVOC)
  • Course Two: Charity Finance (EVIOC)
  • Course Three: Recruiting and Supporting Trustees (including recruitment methods and induction) (VCE
  • Course Four: Effective Meetings and Dealing with Conflict (VCE)

For courses One and Two please contact EVOC on 0131 555 9100 or info@evoc.org.uk
