Get on Board in Edinburgh
Become a Trustee and help to empower positive change in Edinburgh
Trustee, Governor, Director, Committee Member, Management Member, Executive Council Member, Officer…What ever you are called!
In nearly 1800 voluntary sector organisations across Edinburgh, it is estimated that 90% have vacancies for volunteers on their Management Committees and they are looking for individuals to support their work. The rewarding role of the MC Member is as varied as the organisation it governs, luckily for this city the number and diversity of organisations means that your interests and skills can be easily matched. Get On Board in Edinburgh (GOBiE) is looking for people who want to give a few hours a month to make a real and lasting difference to the city.
Potential Trustees are often deterred from taking the next step to becoming a Trustee because the belief is that some legal or financial knowledge is needed, but take a look at what you know, what are your skills and knowledge? Every organisation needs variety, it’s needed in every work force and a Management Committee is no different. For more information about becoming a Trustee look here Potential Trustees.
GOBiE will be looking to work alongside organisations that are seeking to fill their Board spaces or that are perhaps requiring some guidance on supporting their existing Management Committees. As well as supporting organisations, GOBiE also wants to engage and support potential volunteers to Trustee roles across the city. Take a look through our site and check back regularly for updates and resources.
