Learning
Welcome to Volunteer Centre Edinburgh's learning pages. We are committed to helping Edinburgh's volunteer involving organisations deliver the best volunteer management practice possible.
If you are looking for information on any issue of volunteer management you will find a range of Information Sheets on the Resources section of the website which give guidance on key volunteer management issues.
We also have a range of formal learning opportunities:
Core Skills in Volunteer Management
Core Skills in Volunteer Management is a suite of 7 courses covering the basics of volunteer management. The suite is designed so that you can attend all seven and get a complete over view of volunteer management or mix and match on subjects that you feel are of most interest to you. We run the courses twice yearly in the Autumn and Spring. Details of our next course dates can be found on this page when available.
Core skills in Volunteer Management courses include: Involving Volunteers, Recruiting Volunteers and Marketing Your Opportunites, Selection and Screening of Volunteers, Supporting and Motivating Volunteers, Dealing with Challenging Situations and Counselling Out, Training Volunteers, Health and Safety and Risk Management.
As well as the Core Skills courses we offer additional learning opportunities which you will find interesting and informative. Details of these courses will publised on this page when available.
